Silkscreen

Screen printing involves using a mesh to transfer ink or dye onto a substrate by utilizing a blocking stencil that renders specific areas impermeable to ink. A squeegee is passed over the screen to fill the open mesh with ink, transferring it onto the substrate during a reverse stroke. This process prints one color at a time, enabling the use of multiple screens for multi-colored designs.

I primarily utilize this technique on paper and prefer employing templates over lighting.

What intrigues me about screen printing is its vibrant play with colors, which contrasts with my usual preference for black and white. When using templates, it pushes me out of my comfort zone, urging me to think in splashes of color rather than intricate details and lines.
